The Child Care Unit assists parents in obtaining quality child care for their children. This help, also, allows the parent to select the day care of their choice for their children. To be eligible for assistance, a family must meet both the need and income criteria. Need criteria refers to the reason a family needs child care. We recognize five need categories:
- To maintain employment
- To attend school or job training activities which lead to employment
- To support child protective services
- To meet the developmental needs of the child
- To support child welfare services
The family applying for child care services must meet income eligibility requirements to be approved for services.
