Lincoln County operates a Solid Waste Landfill on approximately 300 acres near Crouse, NC. There are also a number of convenience sites for household waste and recyclable material located throughout the county. Only waste generated inside Lincoln County can be accepted at the landfill and convenience sites. Out-of-county waste cannot be accepted.

The Solid Waste Department has a sticker program for Lincoln County Residents. A valid sticker is required to access county convenience sites. Stickers are renewed annually and are sent out in July with Tax bills.

Notice Regarding Electronics at the Landfill
Currently North Carolina General Statues ban electronics from the Landfill. The additional requirement of certified recyclers has increased the cost for processing and disposing electronics. N.C. General Statute 130A-309.10(f)
Lincoln County implemented a $10 fee for each TV or monitor to be handled by Lincoln County for recycling beginning July 2016. TV’s and Monitors can be brought to the landfill at 5291 Crouse Road during normal hours. The Webb Road Recycling and Convenience site will also accept TV’s and monitors on Saturdays. A $10 charge is required at both locations.
Other electronics may be recycled at all sites with no fee. This fee is for TV’s and monitors only. Please contact Lincoln County Landfill with any questions at 704-732-9030.
Citizens can also recycle electronics at private firms, which may charge a fee. North Carolina DEQ has provided a courtesy list of these firms at this link:
