12 Hour Shifts Begin

12-June-04  Effective 0700 hours this morning, LCEMS has changed from a modified 24/48 schedule to 12 hour, non-rotating (straight days and straight nights) shifts.

This was a three month long process that involved the addition of an entire shift of personnel (11 positions), an extreme shift schedule change and most importantly, a change in the pay system for LCEMS employees.

The pay plan changed from the Fluctuating Work Week Pay Plan (FWWPP), which paid at a 1/2 the hourly rate for each hour worked over 40 hours  to a standard 40 hour work week with time and one half being paid for each hour worked over 40 hours.

The new work schedule will improve the health and safety  of our employees while the pay system will improve the morale and retention.

The ultimate goal of these changes are to continuously improve the level of care and services provided to the citizens and visitors of Lincoln County.

An Era Comes To An End

30-June-04 When "B" Shift ends today, so will an era in the history of  LCEMS. Kenneth "Cuz" Scronce will be retiring after 30 years of service to the citizens of Lincoln County.

New Image.JPG.jpeg (76537 bytes)When "Cuz" began his career, Richard Nixon was President, the Viet Nam War was dividing our country, gasoline costs less than 50 cents a gallon, and a TV show called Emergency was introducing the  public to a new "urban hero" called a Paramedic.

wpe2D.jpg (109562 bytes)He has mentored countless EMT's and Paramedics, and touched thousands of lives with his dedication, skill, care and compassion throughout his career.

"Thanks Cuz."
