[ARCHIVED] PRESS RELEASE: Public Works cancels No Swim Advisory

On Friday, July 19th, 2019, Lincoln County Public Works cancels "No Swim Advisory" in the area of 7755 Blade Trail, Denver, NC

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CANCELLATION OF SWIM ADVISORY NOTICE IN LINCOLN COUNTY

As of July 19, 2019 at 12:00 PM, the Lincoln County Health Department has approved Lincoln County Public Works cancelling a “No Swimming Advisory” for all residents in the area of 7755 Blades Trail, in Denver, North Carolina. The advisory was issued because of a waste water spill of an estimated 30 gallons. The untreated wastewater spilled into Burton Creek and Lake Norman in the Catawba River Basin.

Lincoln County Public Works has collected water samples for testing daily from the sites at the affected area. Two consecutive samples showed test results below the required maximum levels at the Burton Creek and Lake Norman sites, and all sampling at these sites now meets the North Carolina Division of Water Quality standards.

For further information, please contact Lincoln County Public Works at (704) 736-8497.
