The Florence S. Shanklin Library in East Lincoln County reopened on Monday, January 13 at 10:00 a.m. after being closed due to damage caused by the extreme cold weather last week.
Below average temperatures caused the boiler in the Library to break down but it has been replaced. Seven breaks in the water pipes, which resulted in minor water damage at the front of the building, have also been repaired.
The Shanklin Branch Library has resumed its regular schedule for library hours and services. All overdue fines on materials returned to the Shanklin Branch before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 will be waived.
We appreciate the community’s patience during the repairs and cleanup.
