location.gif (88594 bytes)Lincoln County is situated 28 miles northwest of Charlotte, (Mecklenburg County) NC, one of the top ten growth markets in the United States. Lincolnton, the county seat, is only 20 minutes by truck from I-85 to the south and approximately 20 minutes from I-40 at Hickory, NC to the north. I-77, the main north-south interstate serving the Charlotte market is merely 20 minutes due east of Lincolnton. The Charlotte Douglas International Airport is 45 minutes southeast of Lincolnton and offers over 500 flights daily, including non-stop service to Europe. U.S. Highway 321 offers north/south travel through central Lincoln County.

Lake Norman, the largest water body in the region, forms most of the country's eastern border, along with the Catawba River. Lake Norman has 520 miles of shoreline and was created in 1963 when Duke Energy Corporation built Cowan’s Ford Dam on the Catawba River. The Lake provides water enthusiasts with outstanding recreational and sporting opportunities.
