Overview

Environmental Planning in Lincoln County focuses on the protection of natural resources, including water and air quality. Lincoln County works very closely with federal and state agencies including:

  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  • Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
  • North Carolina Flood Mapping Program
  • North Carolina Division of Environmental and Natural Resources (NCDENR)
  • North Carolina Division of Water Quality (NC DWQ)
  • North Carolina Division of Air Quality (NC DAQ)

Watershed planning and planning related to reducing the cumulative impacts of development across the county is the primary focus of this division.
