The Governor's Executive Order 124/142 expired on July 29th at 5 pm

TO AVOID SERVICE INTERRUPTION of your Lincoln County utility services, please contact Customer Service at (704) 736-8497 by 5 p.m. on August 20, 2020 to establish a payment plan.

Failure to contact us by the deadline will place any past due balance in default, and the account will become eligible for disconnection.

Executive Order No. 124 was issued by North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper on March 31, 2020, and prohibited utility shut-offs for nonpayment for residential customers during the current State of Emergency, which was declared by the Governor on March 10, 2020. Executive Order 142 was issued on May 30, 2020 and extends the provisions of Executive Order 124 until July 29, 2020.

Denver Payment Office Closure

In response to COVID-19 and out of concern for our customers, citizens and employees, Lincoln County is closing public access to the Water Treatment Plant Effective Thursday, April 2, 2020 until further notice.

All customer service needs are directed to the Billing and Collections office located at 115 W. Main Street, Lincolnton. For questions, please call (704) 736-8497. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Billing and Collection Division provides the following services, including:

  • Accepting applications for service
  • Accepting payment for monthly bills
  • Assessing fines and penalties for violation of policies
  • Compiling meter reading data for monthly billing
  • Maintaining billing and consumption information on all customers
