Employment and Training

The Employment & Training program is offered to eligible Food and Nutrition Services (Formerly Food Stamps) recipients age 16 and up who meet certain criteria.

Lincoln County DSS has teamed up with Gaston College, Christian Ministry of Lincoln County, and East Lincoln Christian Ministry to help Lincoln County residents become self-sufficient.

  • Financial/Registration Assistance
  • Transportation
  • Job Retention Services
  • Resume Building Workshops
  • Job Search Training
  • Supplies and/or tools necessary for work

Education Navigator

An Education Navigator is available to help each person find the program most beneficial to their interest and the current job market. The Navigator at Gaston College will make it easier for each person to register and get supplies and/or tools needed for classes. The E&T Coordinator and Education Navigator will monitor progress, offer support and encouragement up to 90 days after job placement.
